Oreti House felt hats are made from a single cone of dyed wool shaped into four different moulds. Wool has the ability to memorise its dried shape, which makes the felt hats warm, light and durable whilst being very comfortable. The slight lanolin content of the wool makes them water resistant whilst the rigorous felting process makes them very tough. A felt hat will memorise its shape after being flattened in a travelling case and resume its felted shape once it is freed. The felting process mixes the colours and threads giving a marbling effect. Each hat is highly individual yet functional, artistic yet practical. Four styles are available in six colours and three head sizes – small 56 cm, medium  60 cm and large 64 cm head circumference.

The Bush Hat is a typical Australian style hat with an indented crown and broad rim finished with matching hat band and feather.
